The DEFProject is an exciting and adventurous flute orchestra sponsored by the Mesa Community College Music Department featuring flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, piccolos, Eb soprano flutes and a contra bass flute! After only a year together, DEF Project was invited to perform at the 2007 National Flute Association Convention and was again selected to appear in 2010!
Members are from the Phoenix Metropolitan area and include professional flutists, college students, and musicians who love to play the flute! Repertoire varies from newly composed works to arrangements of classics, Asian, Latin and American folk musics and Jazz including improvised solos! We've even played bottles, head joints, boomwhackers, whistles and a bassoon in addition to flutes! For audition and other information please email christina@azflute.com.
A standing ovation for the summer 2009 ensemble!
